Back to Blogging

I have failed miserably at blogging...again... Shocking, I know. But I've decided that I can probably blog once a week so here I am recommitting!

To start off, I want to share some of the pictures I took at the Cherry Blossom Festival. There are SO MANY great things about living in DC, and as I discovered a few weeks ago the cherry blossoms are definitely one of them. Plush petals of the softest pink you can imagine burst onto the scene. They completely encompass the Tidal Basin so all you can see is the gorgeous Potomac river and clouds of cherry blossoms slung low around the shore. People say it's incredible and they are vastly underselling. I couldn't get enough!

Below: Cute ducks at the pond below the Monument.

There's this little enclosure down below the Washington Monument that was just packed with cherry trees.

The cherry blossoms are so thin and gentle. The second it rains, they all fall. I'm so glad I went out when I did because it rained two days later!

And I loved these contrasting colors!

Can you imagine walking underneath this heavenly layer of pale pink flowers as you gaze across the Potomac at the Jefferson Memorial?
